Information about the Make-A-Wish program

The Make-A-Wish Foundation can grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. A child with a life-threatening medical condition who lives in his or her local community may apply for the programme. Relatively, you must have been diagnosed with a condition no longer than six months, but check with your local chapter to see if there are any exceptions. If you’re willing to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant the wishes of eligible children in your area, there are many ways to do so. To help children fight life-threatening diseases, your contribution is invaluable. Contact your local chapter to find out how you can get involved. Program

The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s website has information about the programme. You must first determine which children are eligible. Generally, any child with a life-threatening illness can apply (with some exceptions). A child’s doctor must verify the diagnosis and prognosis in order for the child to be accepted (slow process). Many families begin the application process as soon as a diagnosis is made in order to be accepted.

Help a child

You can assist Make-A-Wish by volunteering virtually from home and on your own time. You may help us organize and host fundraising events, assist with special events for wish families, or become a mentor to a child who wants to realise his or her dream, among other things. You may help Make-A-Wish recruit new volunteers by sharing your experience and educating others about the organisation. Make-A-Wish is the biggest wish-granting organisation in the world. We provide about 15,000 to 18,000 life-changing wishes for seriously ill children annually. As we don’t have enough resources to grant all of the eligible children’s wishes, we can’t grant them all. There are not enough resources for us to do this. Volunteers, donors, and members all work with us to make it happen. With your help, Make-A-Wish is able to grant the wishes of critically ill children.
